Uwell Nunchaku 2 Kit Review: Small Size and Powerful Output

Uwell Nunchaku 2 Kit Review

The latest product in a long line of expertly made and wonderfully functional Uwell devices, the Nunchaku 2, is, rather unsurprisingly, the direct follow-up to the original Nunchaku vape kit.

The original Nunchaku was Uwell’s first foray into the vape mod scene and was a surprisingly decent addition to the market.

Its small size and powerful output made the original Nunchaku a well-sought out product, though its battery life did leave some vape users wanting a little more from the device.

Thankfully, Uwell is here years later with their new Nunchaku device, and they’re here to show you everything they’ve learned since their last release.

Uwell Nunchaku 2 Kit

The Uwell Nunchaku 2 kit has a surprising amount of content inside its small box. Upon opening up the box for the first time, you will be immediately presented with the Uwell Nunchaku 2 mod.

The first thing you’ll likely notice is its larger size compared to the original model. Its beefier size does have good reason though, as we will discuss in a moment.

The Uwell Nunchaku 2 tank is also present in the box. The tank already has a coil pre-installed within. The pre-installed coil is the UN2 Meshed-H 0.2-ohm coil.

An alternative coil is also provided in this kit if you would like to experiment and tailor the vaping experience to your own personal preferences. The other coil included is the UN2 Meshed-H 0.14-ohm coil.

This kit also comes with some spare glass for the tank as well as a spare set of O-rings. These are great inclusions for those who need spare parts or those who may need them in the future. A micro-USB charging cable is also provided in this kit.

You can turn on the Nunchaku 2 by clicking in the fire button 5 times in a row. Press and hold the fire button to produce a vape cloud.

To use the menu features just twist the mod itself. A gyroscopic system is used to select the feature on the menu you want and adjust features.

Design and Build

Nunchaku

In general, the Nunchaku 2 is one very sturdy and resilient vape mod. The mod itself has been made with stainless steel and has been polished to perfection.

The stainless steel external not only looks smart but is also highly practical as it can sustain quite a bit of general wear and tear, even surviving some smaller height drops.

The device is pretty heavy, especially when compared to other vape mods currently available on the market. This is primarily because of the larger batteries housed inside the device.

The Nunchaku 2 comes in a variety of colour schemes and designs with the most striking and vibrant one probably being the “Iridescent” design that oozes with garishly bright colours.

Uwell Nunchaku 2 Mod

Uwell Nunchaku 2 Mod

While the Nunchaku 2 may not look that much larger than its previous model, it manages to pack much more in its larger frame than the original Nunchaku.

The Nunchaku 2 mod now houses 21700 batteries internally within the device. The battery cap is located on the bottom of the mod and comes apart via a simple unscrewing mechanism which makes it easy to both remove and reattach the cap.

The LED screen has been placed on the top of this mod. From here, a whole range of features can be accessed. All you need to do is twist and tilt the mod lightly like the instruction manual shows you.

The fire button is located underneath this screen and is fairly well sized, including a lightly textured grip on the button for extra comfort.

The Micro-USB charging port is located on the back of the mod and is fairly well concealed. This mod features a 510 connection that is 25mm wide. The threading on the 510 platform is very smooth.

Uwell Nunchaku 2 Tank

Uwell Nunchaku 2 Tank

The new Nunchaku 2 tank offers a similarly upgraded experience as the mod, meaning that it has not been entirely changed from the last model, but it can be considered a significant improvement overall.

The tank holds 5ml of E-liquid in its bubble-shaped glass container. The cap for the tank is located at the top of the tank and features a new latch system as opposed to the screw mechanism featured on the prior model.

The sealing throughout the tank is therefore very good, meaning that leakages should not be an issue at all. Unfortunately, this does mean that the tank can be a little difficult to remove from the rest of the mod, often requiring some real elbow grease.

The airflow of the tank is controlled via the intakes on the base of the tank and can be adjusted fairly easily. As previously mentioned, the kit already comes pre-installed with a UN2 Meshed-H 0.2-ohm coil, but a UN2 Meshed-H 0.15-ohm coil is also included in the kit.

Performance

Generally speaking, both of the coils included in this kit are pretty excellent across the board.

While they may not be entirely unique to the Nunchaku 2, the 0.2-ohm meshed-H coil and the 0.15-ohm meshed-H coil do their job very effectively, consistently producing flavourful clouds.

Using the device’s power mode will obviously produce the best vape with the richest flavour, and thanks primarily to the new and improved batteries in this kit, the device should last a lot longer on power mode than its predecessor did.

Both of these coils will last you up to around two weeks of regular vaping, which is pretty decent. One benefit of using the 0.15-ohm coil is that it can be used in the Temperature Control mode.

Just click in the fire button three times to activate the menu, tilt your device to the TC mode and select the temperature you desire. You should produce fairly decent results if you have a TCR Value of around 0.00120.

Battery Life and Charging

As previously stated above, the Nunchaku 2 uses 21700 batteries. These batteries can be installed within seconds. Just unscrew the cap at the bottom of the mod and put your battery inside, the “plus” end of the battery going first into the device.

You can use a smaller battery if you wish, you will just need to use the battery adaptor that should be included with the kit. The battery life of the device, of course, depends on your vaping habits and what power level and coil you are using.

Generally, though, a standard 2500mAh battery at a wattage of 50W will give you around 4 hours of charge. This kit can then be easily charged via a Micro-USB cable, one of which is included in the kit.

Pros and Cons

The Nunchaku 2 is certainly a worthy successor to the original Nunchaku model, but it still has its issues:

Pros:

  • Mod is very resilient to light damage and general wear and tear
  • Very effective power mode
  • Battery life is a marked improvement over its predecessor

Cons:

  • Mod feels quite heavy to hold, especially for long durations
  • The tank can be a little tricky to remove

Verdict

In summary, the Nunchaku 2 is yet again another excellent product from those at Uwell. This follow-up model improves on practically every aspect of the original Nunchaku.

The battery life is significantly better, even on high power modes, the device retains its sleek design, and the mod is highly resilient.

All of these benefits are more than worth the slightly heavy feel that it may have.
