Geekvape Aegis X Review

Geekvape Aegis X Review

One of the most prolific names in the vape game right now is Geekvape. For years, Geekvape has been providing its customers with premium quality vape mod devices, proving time and time again that they are one of the best in the biz.

With hits like the Nova, the Legend, and the Blade already making a storm on the market, Geekvape is undoubtedly the go-to provider for all vape mod products.

Geekvape’s latest dual-18650 mod, the Aegis X, looks to improve upon its predecessors in almost every way. Keep on reading to find out if Geekvape has knocked it out of the park yet again.

Geekvape Aegis X Kit

The Aegis X kit comes with absolutely everything you need to get started and make full use of the mod. Along with the main feature (the actual Aegis X mod), an extremely unique Cerberus tank takes the spotlight in this kit.

The glass tank has a generous 5.5ml capacity and boasts some impressive features that we’ll discuss in more detail in a bit. A spare 4ml glass tank is also included in this kit.

This spare tank has a 0.2-ohm coil pre-installed within it. A spare Mesh coil with a resistance of 0.2-ohm is packaged into the kit along with some spare O-rings and a spare glass tube.

A USB charging cable should also be present in the kit. The sheer number of add-ons in this kit makes it an extremely high value-for-money product from the offset.

The Aegis X itself has an output voltage of 0.1-12V and has an initial resistance range of 0.05-3-ohm. This mod is capable of producing a maximum of 200W of power and features a Temperature Control range of 100-315C.

As previously mentioned, the Aegis X makes use of dual-18650 batteries that are housed internally within the device.

Design and Build

The Aegis X carries over much of the same design as its previous models, namely the overall look of the mod.

The rounded edges and overall sleek design matches the same classy look as models like the Legend and the Nova, with a dash of metallic colouring effectively highlighting the mod’s refined look.

As is the case with almost every element of this mod, Geekvape has managed to refine their Aegis design, making it more lightweight whilst still retaining its sturdiness and reliability.

The thick rubber coating around the mod will protect it from general wear and tear as well as some additional damages.

As can be expected from Geekvape, the Aegis X is jam-packed full of additional modes and features that let you personalise the vaping experience.

Geekvape has gone above and beyond once again, ensuring that each mode has a distinct purpose and reason to exist.

The Power mode on the Aegis X has three different options ranging from Soft to Normal to Powerful. These are brand-new to Geekvape devices and make the vaping experience feel even more customised.

Temperature Control makes an impactful return, as does Bypass mode and Watt Curve mode. Once again, Geekvape has proven that they are one of the definitive voices in the vape mod scene, providing users with any and all modes that they could ever want.

Experienced vapers are sure to adore the wide range of customisation, whereas newcomers can relax knowing that those modes are not necessary for enjoying a good vape.

What sets the Aegis X apart from the other Geekvape mods that came before it is its multiple profile memory slots.

The X has five separate memory slots that can be swapped at any time. These slots save your settings, therefore allowing you to swap between five wholly different settings at any time.

Aegis X Tank

The Aegis X utilises the Cerberus tank. The Cerberus has become somewhat of a favourite of Geekvape’s over the last few years, and for good reason too.

While it may seem unassuming on the surface, the Cerberus does a lot of things right. When it comes to performance and build quality, the Cerberus is one of the best tanks around.

The threading throughout the tank is of the highest quality, ensuring that no E-liquid is going to spill out of the tank at any point.

The drip tip fits perfectly into the tank, allowing for no leakages. The airflow on the tank is very smooth and can be adjusted with ease.

Filling the Cerberus tank is exceptionally easy thanks to the twist-filling cap that allows for easy access while also maintaining a tight seal.

To fill the tank, all you need to do is unscrew the cap and carefully pour in your E-liquid of choice. That’s it!

When you need to change the coils inside the tank, just hold the base of the tank and unscrew the body of the tank by rotating it anti-clockwise. Simply unscrew the expended coil screw in the new one.

Performance

The Aegis X makes great use of Geekvape’s modern AS 2.0 chipset that was developed just after the Legend and Nova mods released.

The AS chipset has been one of the best chip series in the modern vaping landscape, and the latest AS 2.0 model continues that trend.

In its Power mode, the Aegis X performs very well. While it may not be breaking any new ground, the Aegis X is able to reach upwards of 200W, which is sure to make you vape taste incredible.

Additionally, both the amp limit and the volt limit are higher than the average mods on the market, making this a great option for those who like to get the most out of their mod.

The Aegis X’s Temperature Control mode is a little disappointing on the whole, as if you use lower resistance builds then the TC mode has a difficult time heating up the coils properly.

On the other hand, using builds with a higher resistance yields much better results. For the best results, it is recommended that you use a low-watt Mouth-to-Lung build when on Temperature Control mode as the coils are sure to heat up quickly and produce consistent results.

Pros and Cons

While the Aegis X may live up to the high standard now expected from all Geekvape products, it is not without its flaws. The list below details some of the most stand-out pros and cons of this mod:

Pros:

  • Great build quality overall
  • Power mode performance is great
  • Plenty of modes and features for veterans to play around with

Cons:

  • Temperature Control mode struggles with low resistance coils

Verdict

While it may not turn the heads of experienced vapers, Geekvape Aegis X is definitely an improvement on previous Geekvape models that already astounded with their high level of quality.

Everything about Geekvape’s Aegis range has been improved upon, from its Power mode performance to its innovative memory profiling system that allows users to switch up their vaping experience at the push of a button.

The Cerberus tank included in the kit has once again proved to be one of the best tanks on the market with its simple coil-changing and refilling systems that allow new vapers to easily understand and use the device.

On the whole, the Aegis X is sure to please any and all vape users.
